Dog Rocks is a stunning yet, surprisingly, relativley unknown location. The huge granite stones, weathered over millions of years, petrude through the grass providing a landscape that wouldn't look out of place in a science fiction movie. I had been here a few times before but was never really treated to any light, even a few days before I captured this image I'd made yet another trip here, where the expected sunrise didnt materialise, making the 4.45am alarm seem even more harsh. Undeterred however, I headed out again and was lucky enough to experience almost perfect conditions where the setting sun in the west provided a dramatic sky, the wind dropped for long enough to allow minimal movement in the tree for this long exposure and the hundreds of sheep who share this field, and have one more than one occassion photobombed the scene, were far enough away so as to not stray into the image.
Location - Dog Rocks, Batesford, VIC.
