When I was beginning to take my photography more and more seriously, I used to become very frustrated, especially in winter, when the opportunities to capture dramatic, firey skies were extremely limited due to the shorter days, other commitments and generally poorer weather.  Luckily, I began to realise that when the light isn't forecast to be anything special or the weather isnt ideal, there are still opportunities to capture other images, especially as the lack of light forces you to look for the more intimate images within the wider scene.  
This image is a prime example of this, as I had clambered down a number of steps,clambered over rocks and perched myself precariously on a ledge in the middle of the raging Barwon River, so as to photograph the delightful cascade at Buckley Falls.  Whilst taking a wider shot of the falls, I noticed this particular tree, contrasting wonderfully well with the dark rock behind, and decided to change to a zoom lens in order to isolate this harmonious scene.  The silky ribbons of water behind provide such a relaxing tone to the image, and it really does have an almost 'zen' like feel.
