Princes Pier is such an atmospheric location. These pylons are all that are left of the original structure where thousands ended their journey but also where many more embarked to take part on journeys from which they would never return. It is usually packed with photographers in the evenings trying to capture a sunset across the bay, but luckily I was the only person there early one morning as the sun rose and illuminated the timbers, which provided an almost haunting aura.
