A magical sunset fills the sky with colour above Point Lonsdale Pier. It was my first visit here and I'd intended to shoot the nearby lighthouse but the conditions weren't great so I looked for other compositions. Sometimes, by choosing the obvious, you're rewarded with a very simple but effective image as in this case. The pier seems to entice the viewer out into the image but it belies the fact that the stretch of water is one of the most treacherous in this country. Point Nepean in the distance seems to be a safe haven but do you take the risk to reach there?
Location - Point Lonsdale, Bellarine Peninsula, VIC.
