I'd headed out on this particular evening hoping that the stormy conditions that had been present all day would clear and provide some golden light. Unfortunately, it didn’t materialise, so as is often the case with landscape photography, a certain flexibility is needed if you want to take an image and you have to shoot to the conditions. As the incoming tide began to break around the jetty at Point Lonsdale, I swapped lenses for my 70-200mm and decided to focus in on the structure as a point of solidity amongst the waves. The fishermen on the pier gave a perfect sense of scale and perspective.
