I'd wanted to visit this area during Autumn for a while but, due to the Covid restrictions that had been imposed over the previous couple of years, had been unable to.  Thankfully in 2022 there were no limitations on travel in place so headed to the Dandenong Ranges  in the east of Melbourne in search of the seasonal colour on offer.  It can be tricky, especially if you're limited in how many opportunities you have to get to a particular location, to judge when the 2-3 weeks of peak colour are at their height and in a number of the locations I had scouted the foliage was not quite what I was after.  However, at this particular area, the avenue of trees could not have looked any better.  I happily spent a long time refining my composition and was extremely pleased with the final result.
