The peaks of the You Yangs form a familiar landmark for anyone living in the area between the west of Melbourne and Geelong.  Hiking from the lower car park up to Big Rock, you forget that you are less than an hour from the Melbourne CBD and are transported back to a more primitive time.  I did want to capture an image of the peaks themselves, but all of the colour and light was the opposite way, so I switched the camera position and photographed the vast open spaces below.
