Its hard to believe that I had put my camera back in its bag only minutes before this amazing sky appeared over Point Lonsdale lighthouse.  As the sun had set, the sky remained full of broken cloud without even a hint on what might be on offer, and after waiting more than 15 minutes for any improvement i decided to call it a night.  Just as i turned to pick my tripod up, I noticed a small pink glow appearing on the horizon, so just held back packing it away.  Within minutes this glow had engulfed the sky and a truely awe inspiring light shone above me.
