Embrace The Grey
  • Embrace The Grey

This wasn't the image I had intended to capture as I headed to Point Lonsdale at the end of summer 2021.  The forecast suggested that the heavy cloud would break, which led me to hope that there was a good chance of some evening colour but, by the time I had reached the destination it became clear that the weather had set in for the evening.  Determined to not have a wasted journey I set my tripod up underneath the pier, but did not have favourable tides for that potential composition but as I headed back to the car I thought I would just try to see what else there may be.  The rain had begun falling by now, yet I could see there was a certain melancholy beauty in the scene so I opened the small umbrella I normally carry in my bag, set up my camera and managed to capture this before the rain became too heavy.
