Having moved to the Bellarine Peninsula in mid-2022 it has been an enjoyable experience scouting new locations and "go-to" places for making photographs. Crossing the older road bridge over the mouth of the Barwon River has been a regular occurrence as I ventured out and about in the area and it has been on the list of places to explore for a long time so, one evening in late summer 2023, I parked up and decided to see what images I could create. The converging structures were an obvious leading line, taking the viewer on a seemingly endless journey towards the horizon, and I had to make many small refinements to my camera position in order to ensure they were as equal as possible in the scene, and I did toy with the idea of waiting for the sky to illuminate above before opening the shutter. However, as the sun dipped towards the horizon, a wonderful sun star appeared, providing what I felt was the missing element of the scene, so I quickly fired off a few shots and was extremely pleased with the result.
