I had spotted this small grove of trees at the entrance to one of the many wineries on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria almost a year before capturing this particular image.  What had tirggered my interest were the beautiful blooms of the agapanthus flowers that appeared between the trees however, on that initial visit the blooms had almost all gone.  I made a mental note to return and did so in the summer of 2022 just as they were beginning to flower again.  I patiently re-visited a number of times over the following few weeks, just to ensure there were enough of the brilliant purple colours to make an impact, and finally captured this scene which came alive with the soft, warm evening light.
