I certainly don't consider myself a "minimalist" photographer but, it's certainly a genre that I do enjoy practising.  There is a definite skill in being able to compose an image with the bare minimum of elements and yet present an end product that provides interest to the viewer.  For this photography, I had actually spent the evening shooting seascapes with the old Queenscliff Pier as the main subject but, as I was heading back to my car, I saw how the nearly full moon was perfectly aligned with this very unique structure (it is a viewing platform).  Quickly setting up my gear again I  could see the scene before me almost be one that was taken from a science fiction movie and was extremely pleased with the final result.
