Standing on the 88th Floor of the Eureka Tower in Melbourne, the wonderful city spread out below me as far as the eye could see.  I had arrived before sunset, but I knew I wanted to capture the city lights glistening against the cobalt sky of the 'blue hour', so I happily enoyed the setting sun to the west.  I was amazed at how quickly the lights fired up, almost as if a single switch rather than millions in homes and offices, was flicked at that exact moment but I stood in complete awe at what I could see.  There were so many familiar landmarks, but I didn't have time to stand and admire, I knew I had to be quick to capture the scene before too much of the sky went black.  The other problem I faced was trying to block out the reflections that were appearing on the windows of the platform.  I managed this with a strategically placed black t shirt, stuck to the window with masking tape, but looking at the final image of the jewels below it was as if the glass wasn't there.
