Morning Star
The Covid 19 lockdowns of 2020 were tough for all, and it took a period of adjusting to not being able to head out when I pleased to try and take a photograph. Being confined to a travel radius of 5km certainly limited any opportunities but, if there was one positive, it was that it made me look closer to home for compositions rather than thinking there was literally nothing to photograph in my area. The local botanic gardens became a favourite haunt and I spent many permitted hours there amongst the many species of flora and fauna. This particular morning I had been photographing a nearby tree in the soft dawn light but, as the sun rose higher, I could see this composition out of the corner of my eye. I quickly rotated my tripod and managed to capture the sun star through the foliage.
