There are some occasions where the colours in the sky at sunset are just too vivid to believe, leading to them having to be de-saturated when the image is being processed on the computer.  This late summer evening in 2026 was one of those.  I had been out for the previous few evenings, enjoying the humid weather that tends to develop around that time of year, and had captured a few pleasant images but nothing I would consider gallery worthy.  On this day we had been treated to the same warm conditions as before so I headed out again to a popular spot that is usually busy due to the number of tourists and holidaymakers but, being just out of season, it was very quiet.  This allowed me to set up and refine the simple composition to ensure the two river crossings were equal in the frame, and then just wait for the sky to do the rest.
